"The Edna V. Davis Missionary Society and the Divine Divas of Hemingway Temple AME presents "Purses with a Purpose" benefitting DC General Shelter.  We are a few in numbers but BIG IN HEART, and strive to be a force in the community.  Members, in collaboration with friends and fellow church organizations, donated gently used purses filled with toiletries to women in the metropolitan area. Just this task alone, can give a women an extra pep in their step. If we can put a smile on a face, just for a second, so they won’t have to reflect on their current situation I claim SUCCESS!!!  One purse at a time.  We are humbled and blessed to fulfill this goal". - Kim Parker
