Baptism is one of the African Methodist Episcopal Church's holy sacraments. It is one of the most sacred events in your Christian life.
In order for an adult, child, or infant to be baptized, the adult or the parents must attend a "Preparation of Baptism" session with the pastor or his designee. Baptism is not only a sign of profession and a mark of difference whereby Christians are distinguished from others who are not baptized, but it is also a sign of regeneration or the new birth.
The African Methodist Episcopal Church recognizes the water baptism of infants, children, and adults.
